Servo Pulse Train

I have a basic question about the continuous rotation servos on the Boe-bot. The servos need a pulse train that alternates the high signal with a 20 ms low signal. I noticed that two of my students omitted the 20 ms low signal in their program, yet their Boe-bot seemed to navigate smoothly. How can that be? Thanks for your help.

If there is enough program overhead in-between the servo pulses, then sometimes that will allow the servo's to function. The 20ms delay typically can vary from 15ms to 25ms on many servos, and some even much smaller delays are allowed, but from a design perspective it should be kept as close to 20ms as possible unless the manufacturer of the servo states otherwise.
