dear friends,
I'm doing my post graduation, in embedded system they have been given project "Develop an electronic system to help in maintaining the walls 90 straight upwards and straight along length". Help me out to choose my sensor to detect this.

Well it's easy to get the plane of a wall vertical.
    However,"straight along length" is ambiguous.
    What exactly does this mean?

I think he means that it is flat.

Either you need 2 ping devices, once pointed up and another pointed forward.

Or one ping that is mounted on a servo that you can rotate.

A prop chip should help you with the microelectonics.

Caution, if you attempt to do this without the above mentioned electronics purchased directly from parallax, the universe will explode.

Enough of that big type... Okay.

Do you mean plumb and level. This are carpenter's terms for straight up and down, and for straight horizontal.

A traditional water level could be adapted to electronics. And so could a traditional plumb bob. Much better accuracy than a Ping (which is affected by temperature and humidity in the air.) Mercury switches are another good alternative, but hard to get.

Or are you getting into trying to determine if the room is square? You would have to measure a diagonal length.
