Lol, yes and unfortunately the Europeans don't get pie on Pi Day if they write it 14.3 Whisker did mention eating twice as much pie on tau day ... And we tried eating a lot of varieties of pie yesterday to decide which pie to get today, blurgh. too sweet!!
Being that it is Congress and it is Washington, I'm surprised the National Association of History Teachers and the lobbyists working for the cake didn't try to attach language to the bill establishing a 'Let Them Eat Cake Day" to recognize history teachers and to encourage the study of history and government affairs in school curriculum. Now that would have been a good example of government at "work"!!

I should go get a Raspberry Pie to eat while I play with my Raspberry Pi and let it compute Pi.
I was thinking the same thing. Heard it on NPR this morning.

Purists might opt to celebrate 3-14-15 at 9:26:53.589793 AM.
But then the Tau Day activists will rally: http://www.forevergeek.com/2011/06/happy-tau-day-2011-the-pie-is-a-lie
A date on the calender happens to match some digits of PI.
So what?
It's numerology at it's best (/worst).
Nothing to do with the idea of PI at all.
Happy Pi(e) Day all!
You see pi is totally the wrong circle constant. The more sensible thing is tau. And tau = 2 * pi.
So on tau day you can eat twice as much pie!

But hey, why not just eat pie any day?
How stupid is this?
Congress made it official.

You might say Congress has better things to do, but they did it.
I guess that's the US of A.
Honestly, I'd rather have Congress doing things like this more often, things will run better!!
Are you guys going to get a holiday on pi day?
Or free pie?
Or a tax break on pie purchases on pi day?
What a crock.
Trying to encourage interest in mathematics with random numerical coincidences, blech!
Congress?
Don't you mean ----overpaid skrypt kiddies->
And propinapropinapropinapropinapropinapropinaprop.....
And last but not least, do RCTIME using a 74hc595 and a 74hc597:
post it already..
pi = 3.14159265 ...
phi·pi = 5.0832 ...

Do we get to have pie again? It's on my calendar!!
P.S. for the record, Pi Day 2014 was cherry at my house!
