visitor message spam

Hi All,

It would seem that a spammer (ma0941987) made it past our best efforts to protect you all, and has left junk in the visitor message area of your forum profile.

This spammer was caught and banned a couple weeks back. However, the droppings continue to appear as forum users visit their profile page.

Examine your visitor message area and delete any offending spam. If you need assistance, feel free to request help.

Click on your username to get to your profile page. The visitor message area should be the first tab.

You could always switch visitor messages off (under General Settings).

The very top right of the Forums screen is where to begin.

The very top right of my forums screen says, "Log Out." I guess I see what you mean. :)

Well said. Well I looked at mine. All that's there is my last one. It seems this joker never found mine.

...apologies - I've done what I loathe other people to do, "assume" that everyone knew where their visitor message area resided.

Along with "Notifications", "Settings", and "Log Out" at the top of the Forum page, you'll find "My Profile" (see pic below).

Click on "My Profile" and the visitor message area will be viewable if (IF) visitor messaging is enabled in your general settings.

    Does that help?

You know what they say, "Never assume.". I won't say why. I don't know why. I did go ahead and check again. Nothing there but the one message I know about.

Okay Phil what did you do now?

I really have no idea! Visitor messages? I don't even do blogs. Cripes! The forum used to be simple; now I feel like I'm ensnared in a labarinthine shrimp trap. Maybe I should just click "Log Out" now -- while I still understand what it means ... (And I'm supposed to be a moderator? Browser was much better at this than I am!)

:) I also got nothing, further proof that I'm nobody.
