Diode for Sabertoth 2 X 25

I was told that when using a switch on the Dimension Engineering Sabertooth 2X25 controller I would need a diode to protect the Sabertooth

See attached drawing , so I called up an electronics parts place and gave them the information and they said they did not have it

Seems like a simple part to locate but with my limited electronics background I am not having any luck, If anyone could recommend a diode for this and a part number that would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

What you want is something like the SB560E-G.
