I noticed this book in pre-publication on Amazon ... looks like a winner! Due out middle of May.

Unlike some of the other quadcopter books out, this one is all about the Elev-8.

And due out in June is Jessica's book on the Prop:

Cool! I like tech books: whenever I want to learn a new technology I usually buy 3 or 4 books on the subject.

One thought: I'd avoid mentioning that the Propeller came out in 2006. It makes it look old, and if I were looking around for a chip I wouldn't want to use something that is 8 years old.
    Publication Date: June 22, 2014

    ...

Parallax released the Propeller microcontroller in 2006 as a follow-up to their BASIC Stamp module.

While true, you don't need to mention it unless someone brings it up.

Hmmmm. The Arduino came out in 2005, and this is often mentioned as historical info. Folks don't seem to mind. I think it comes down to how the totality of the field is perceived to have matured and improved. You could say the Propeller is just a chip, the same as it was in 2006. But it's also things like the Activity Board, which is an amazing piece of hardware that is very much up-to-the-times. The Atmel chip still at the core of the most popular Arduinos is by way of comparison ancient.

I don't know how Jessica's book covers the Prop-based boards, but I note the Amazon page also mentions the Quickstart as an example development board.
