FYI..

Will Apple be required to install fire suppression equipment on their next i-Phone model?

In all seriousness...every have a cell phone burn up on you?

I had a cell phone on its charger that decided to catch on fire...and would have burned the house down if I hadn't been around to put out the fire.

I've had two charger-related near housefires. 'Been thinking about building a small cinder-block shed out back just for charging purposes.

FWIW...after my near miss I now charge all cell phones in the sink.

    I haven't had a Li battery blow up....yet.

Don't charge in the sink. Water makes lithium fires more vigorous, not less.

True, but most sinks are made out of stuff that won't burn. Personally, I use the top of the stove inside an old pot - not much chance of that catching on fire if the battery decides to go out in a burst of flames.

I've never had any incidents with any of our many devices which are scattered around the house often attached to their chargers.I guess we've been lucky. Makes you want to put a cinder block "charging vault" on each floor.

I'm wondering if the girl is in trouble with the school. The way many school systems are now with "zero tolerance policies", after things settle down, she'll get a multi-day suspension for inappropriate attire for when she took her pants off!

Correct..a sink is quick and convenient...and if another fire starts it will not burn the house down while we sleeping.

I have stuck opened Li Ion cells in water . it did nothing . The amount of Metallic Lithium in a non Primary cell is small .

I also use fire proof safe ( like 30 bucks ) in reverse as a way to charge my non phone Li I on cells in testing ..If it fits . its gonna be charged in the bunker

This is one of the greatests ads in my opinion. Especially the NFC gay boys are funny :)

P.S. I personally have old style clamshell cell phone, with only extra feature being built-in flashlight :)

From the famous brands, entry level NOKIAs have. Tier2 brands include Philips, Alcatel, etc. I personally have Philips X216 - dual sim & flashlight. Lasts one full week on single charge. I can't stop smillig when looking at owners of enormosly awesome galaxies, as they wander around, in search for charger and outlet :)

    Thanks.

I like flip phones...my pocket is an extremely hostile environment for cell phones...and since I like dark places a flashlight is very handy.

Yes, me too. This is why I have mostly flip phones.
