DE2-115 emulation without requisites - is it possible?

As far as I know, to play with P2 and DE2-115 I need a propplug and additional board.

Is it possible to make a P2 emulator working on raw DE2-115, connected to PC via its RS232 and with some i/o pins connected to DE2-115 video and audio chip, so one can play with it without any add-ons to DE2-115?

I've seen that answered yes very recently. The details I don't know.

The signals go out via the HSMC connector, rather than the DE2's VGA, serial etc connector. This means its a whole lot easier just to ask for Parallax's DE2 breakout board.

However there is probably another way, and that would be to pick up the signals from the Terasic HSMC breakout board (that breaks HSMC out to 3 x 40 pin DIL headers. )

You still need a TTL serial adapter (FTDI or other). But you probably aleady have something like this.

Have a look at the Terasic_DE2_115_Prop2_Emulator.PDF file in the latest FPGA file for more details on the HSMC pinouts.
