Professional Development Board Problem

After having no problems for several years my PDB gave me an error today - "No Propeller found on any serial port"
I replaced the Prop and the USB cable - same result.
Anyone have any other ideas - the board was working yesterday with no problems.
Windows Device Manager sees the FDTI and the LEDs on the PDB flash when I plug in the USB cable as usual.
Anyone have any ideas.
Can I use a Prop Plug with the PDB if it cannot be repaired ?
Thanks in Advance

When removed all OK again
Yep. And that's what I do. Somehow or other I fried the FTDI chip, so semi-permanently set up a PropPlug on breadboard. It works fine, even without messing with the broken FTDI chip (removing it or cutting traces).
Thanks that's good to know for any future problems
I've marked this thread as 'solved'.
