Brad Campell BST on MacOS 10.6.8, no source window

Hi all,

I want to programm my Parallax Propeller with MacOS.
I recently found the BST Propeller Suite from Brad Campell.

I downloaded bst-0.19.3.osx.zip, unzip and run the application. But if I select a spin file for open, no source window appears.
There is only the menu bar visible.
Is there a trick to use bst on 10.6.8?

I also tried the following versions:
bst-0.19.2-Pre1.osx.zip
bst-0.19.4-pre12.osx.zip
bst-0.19.4-pre13.osx.zip
bst-0.19.4-pre14.osx.zip

But no success at all.
Thank you for every hint!

regards,
Bart

It should work. When you hit load file, you get a blank window with no text appearing? Can you make a screen shot? Which mac?

    No. I get no window.
I also get no window on most menu items, e.g. "Compile -> Compile Information"

BST seem to update the window list, but I can't see the windows, see screenshot.

The Computer is an Intel-Mac (MacBook Pro, 2009 with MacOS X 10.6.8)

    Bart Fox,

Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with BST. It is a very nice tool and one that I used for a long time.

Sadly Brad Campell is not supporting BST any more. For a long time now. As BST is a closed source program there is not much anyone can do to support it.

There is an alternative now a days: SimpleIDE. You can get it from here: http://learn.parallax.com/node/640

Don't be misled by all the talk of programming in C on those pages, SimpleIDE also supports programming in Spin.

It was not quite obvious that SimpleIDE also works with Spin. It looks great and run out-of-the-box.
    Thank you!

    Best regards,
    Bart

    Bart,

You are right. It's not obvious at all. I wonder why not.
