Issue w/audio chip TSV912IDT as seen on PropBOE

http://parallax.com/sites/default/files/downloads/32900-Propeller-BOE-Schematic-Rev-A.pdf Page 4. According to the Schematic on page 4, the chip dealing with audio for the Propeller BOE is U4A, and on the BOM, that corresponds to 497-8165-2-ND which brings me to TSV912IDT on digikey.

So I've been trying to update a board that connects to my heart project and trying to get stereo audio capability. From what I can tell, I've connected everything just as shown on the schematic. The problem is the audio is REALLY quiet.

There's the schematic for that portion. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them!

Your barrel jack doesn't really disconnect from ground when you plug in your head phones?
The jack in your schematic is different from what is in the parallax schematic..

Sorry, I guess I'm not sure what you mean - that's not the barrel jack, it's a 1/8" audio jack? And even though the jacks look slightly different, I'm pretty sure I wired them up the same way?

I just noticed that if you plug a headset into the audio jack as shown on your schematic, it would disconnect the ground connection from the audio jack.
And they do make this type of audio jack, So I was just making sure that is what you wanted to do.. :)

Hum...so that's not what I want to do - shield should remain grounded at all times.

Don't know if this helps. It looks like on my jack, 3 is tip, 1 is ring, 2 is shield. I didn't know there'd be any...detachment or whatever? This is just how I've connected all of my other audio jacks in schematic.

I'm sure you have it right, :), But maybe you could double check you have ground connection when the headphones are plugged in.
If you do have the right audio jack, then I guess it's time to see the code. :)
