Neat article, but do satellites really have alarm clocks? :)

I don't know why Yahoo calls Rosetta a 'satellite', as it is obiously not a satellite (it doesn't orbit the earth or any other planetary body).
It's better to go to the source instead of Yahoo. Go via http://www.esa.int (would have included the full link but the forum software won't let me cut and paste with the Android browser).

Apparently there's not enough gravity to hold the probe on the comet so it has to fire harpoons into the surface and reel itself "down" to make contact. Pretty darn cool.

    Good news.
Rosetta has sent a signal home. Wakeup worked.

still a way to go, mid march to april systems will be switched on one by one when there will be enough sunlight on the solar panels to do so.

The Rosetta Stone. No wakeup here.
