He could make a Geiger counter out of bamboo, but he couldn't fix a hole in a boat... RIP Russell Johnson! You would have been a VIP in this forum!

Indeed, RIP. Back in 1993 he hosted the Ig Nobel prize ceremony at MIT and was a real crowd pleaser.

I would love to have seen it, but didn't hear about it until after it happened. It's hard to believe that was over twenty years ago too.

I remember asking my mom if we could please plant some Bamboo trees, So I could build a car, a bicycle, and all those other things you can build with Bamboo...

Sounds like a great challenge for the forum's Robot folks - BambooBot!!

The Professor and Mary Ann were my favorite characters on the show. Both for their obvious reasons!

    Martin_H,

Did you intend to post this exact same entry in the blog? If so, that borders on "double posting".

Hardly. I never visit the blogs page. In fact I think I did for the first time just now.
So unless someone links from forum post to blog I will never see it.
If they do that that might as well post the same link here as in the blog, As Martin has done.

No I accidentally blogged it and have been trying to figure out how to delete the blog post. There's no delete button on the blog entry.

Update. If you edit a blog post there's a radio button and a delete button. If you select the radio button the delete button works.

Update to the update. There used to be a blog this post button but I don't see it now. I think that is how it happened because I used that to save content I wanted to have easy access to later.

And to think in the first season they rated no better than a "...And the rest!" in the theme song.

I had the fortune of meeting Russell Johnson briefly some years back in LA. I just noticed his Web site is maintained by Dreama Denver, who was Bob Denver's wife at the time of his death back in '05. Now only Dawn Wells and Tina Louise remain of the original Castaways.

    Martin & All,

I've asked the Forum Owners about this and I have been corrected in my thinking. Users are more than welcome to archive posts in their blog space.

    Apologies for any concern,

    DJ
