Parallax Scribbler (S2) Robot - Hacked with Ultra Violet

This is the 1st in a series of 5 Videos going from basic to advanced UltraViolet hacking of the S2 robot. ( This video also gives a short overview of what to expect in following videos )

This first version uses a simple UltraViolet Pen , the type used to detect forged bank notes.
( all my Swiss bank notes check out..... if you know what i mean ;-)

The UV pen simply fits into the pen slot of the S2 and i have used one of the already built-in programs to draw a figure "8"

And for those who want to see the amazing accuracy of the S2s mechanism :-

And here is a rough line up of all the bits in the pipeline.....

Excellent job as always Gareth! That figure 8 looks eerily precise. I am totally bummed that I have to wait for more videos.

...... Can't wait to see the rest!
    Swiss Greetings Jessica.....
As promised a while back i have collected all my Scribbler UV material together to bring some Video/Documentation into order ( I was strayed off course by my 3D printer escapades, at least one of my 3D print objetcs assisted in the design of a 16X3mm UV LED carriage which became the BeeKnees for my S2 UV mods, stay tuned ).
    Regards G

Lol...... Thats the plan ..... "Stay tuned for the next instalment of Scribbler meets UV"..... tension builds......

BTW :- The last video uses one of your bare bones boards ( They are just amazing .. they still work like magic.. . I could retrofit one inside the S2 to help with driving all the UV leds)

What kills me is that I can completely see what's coming next, and what a simple and good idea it is. I just wish I thought of it first!

    Hi Gareth,

Have you done any progress with the " round Led brush" with the 31 leds? Any video with this?

Gareth is my robot hero and International Man of Mystery. He's been MIA lately, and missed. But he came back today, gun's a-blazing. Great job, Pal!

Yes, I saw that in the video, glad they are working out well. I need to run some more soon as I just sold my last ones from the latest batch. I still need to finish V2 of the module which adds uSD, plus a few other things. I did just finish building a batch of PowerTwigs.
