I was ecstatic when I checked my email one Saturday AM and found that not only does the USPS now have tracking but my parts were about to show up at my doorstep, in the great Pacific NW, [IN TIME FOR WEEKEND EXPERIMENTATION]. Excuse me. And it only cost a little over 2 bucks for shipping. What a deal.

And I can't express my appreciation enough for the wealth of knowledge (and great stuff) at your website. I've lit more than one light bulb there. Thanks!

How did you get the worlds coolest phone#?

So what's the world's coolest phone number business? I did not know...

Parallax's toll free tech support number is 888-512-1024 (yes, I had to look up what he was referring to).

    Dear m_pell_98037,

On behalf of the Parallax team and the fine people on this forum (including erco AKA Eric who replied above me), welcome to this new place!

The phone number 888-512-1024 is probably recognized by fewer of our customers than you might think. Once in a while people proclaim lots of excitement about it, as you have done! This number was chosen by Chip or Lance (Parallax founders) around 1990. 1024 is also a nice round binary number of
10000000000 and both numbers are common memory sizes.

As for the Saturday package arrival, that's great! Thankfully you're also within that two-day USPS striking distance from Rocklin, California.

We'll look forward to your questions on the forums.

    (8 x 8 x 8) + 512 = 1024

Sometimes I hear our shipping department, but can't see them because of the piles of boxes they're dealing with- they are amazing!

Oddly, my (randomly assigned by verizon) cell phone numbers' last four digits are 2048.

and of course, Welcome to the Forums m_pell_98037! :thumb:

And you thought you were hearing Artie Shaw! Nope, just Ken practicing his glissando for Begin the Beguine.

Thanks Dmashek, for the fine research. I suppose I could have asked, how did you get the world's coolest toll free tech support number. But that would have narrowed it.

I can see there are a lot of thinkers at this forum.
