I got a chuckle out of this article on "how to optimize your workspace". http://www.fastcocreate.com/3024549/6-desk-tweaks-to-change-the-way-you-work-and-maximize-your-creativity
Standing at your desk, not having a fixed space (nomad desking), minimalist decor, eliminating distractions, I could forgive those oversimplifications. BUT... when they said, and I quote, "FOR BEST RESULTS, WALK AWAY FROM THE DESK" , I had to laugh. Isn't this all of us? Or wouldn't we aspire to have this fairly organized 3-monitor plus laptop setup? I guess some people in some jobs can get by with nothing but an ipad and a flower on their desk, but not this country boy.

Creativity requires a 'man cave', not an iPad and a seat next to the romper room at McD's with cheap scalding hot coffee.

personal pictures, wood desk all his really help with my concentra ... oooh, what's that ...........
What do you expect from a bunch of marketing, media and advertising people...something concrete??
From what I can tell, creativity to them is a 'look at me' kind of WOW factor for the sake of a buzz in the media rather than the creation of something that might be profoundly useful.
Finding something profoundly useful is rather hardwork.
I refuse to go to three monitors on my desk. I just have two - one is mostly used as a TV and I just want one mouse and one keyboard. But the darned wireless notebook sneaks in all the time.
