Asus or its spin offs (Pegatron) seem to really know what the world digitially would like -- e.g.; the Transformer notebook. They seem to be alive and well.
Meanwhile, HTC is hemorrhaging losses and copy litigation for trying to be like the iPhone and the Galaxy. It would come as no surprise if their main offices burst into flames from a fire of mysterious origin in the next 90 days. Demons of the industry seem to like to go out in flames. Robert Downey Jr. was signed on to save them, but it just hasn't worked.
Acer is just ugly. Never quite a clue as to what to produce, but very solid in the belief that it can promote anything. Do you remember their laptops with the Ferrari logo and in Ferrari red (when they had an Italian CEO)? Or did you buy one of their environmental friendly laptops with the laminated bamboo case?

I suspect the Rule of Thumb is that when a Taiwanese tech company hires outside CEOs or celebrities to carry the day, it is time to short sell the stock.
Whatever happened to Tower Records or Blockbuster Video.
What's next to go? Well Mr. Putin is acting like a flow in the Sochi Winter Olympics might cause his downfall.
And what is the best to come for 2014? The Propeller TWO of course. The recent doubling of RAM has really gotten my attention.
