A local TV station had a story on using drones for law enforcement, etc
Students at the Charles Allen Prosser School of Technology, in New Albany, got a lesson on drone technology Friday.
Representatives from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Louisville Metro Police Department and a group of criminal justice students at the Prosser School of Technology watched a drone, or unmanned aerial vehicle, or UAV, fly 400 feet into the air with barely a sound. It's built to be the eyes for national security, and it's got many government officials' attention.
Indiana is in the running to become the test site for the drones, using its military bases.
The drone costs about $100,000, but it is less expensive and has more capabilities than flying a manned aircraft.
