Boe Bot conversion to ActivityBot?

I haven't checked in for some time and just noticed the ActivtyBot. I'd like to work with a microprocessor using C but I'd rather not buy a bunch of duplicate parts (already have a Boe Bot). Thanks for any advice.

I just saw this list yesterday.

I have most of the parts on the list myself but I can't bring myself to pay $38 for the encoders. I'm working on making my own encoders.

Good point, but the stamped aluminum chassis & ball wheel may be the only common parts. The servos, board, & wheels are different, and the Activitybot kit includes several extra sensors, including wheel encoders. An "upgrade kit" might not be significantly less than buying the whole kit. In which case, leaving your Boebot intact as a fully functional bot makes sense, even if you sell it to raise capital to buy an Activitybot.

Thanks for the link. Fewer common parts than I assumed. Guess I will own two bots.

You can also use the Activity Board with the standard BoeBot, just swapping out the Activity Board for the Board of Education. When the Activity Board came out, I posted a version of FemtoBasic configured for the Activity Board which works nicely with this configuration.
