Didn't take long for the Creationist jabs to show up. Pity. Forrest is a stand up guy, and no one should be belittled because of their particular religious beliefs. Fortunately there seems to be some good questions in the mix.

I had both 'Engineers Notebooks'. I gave the pale blue one to a friend in high school, I still have the yellow one.

Those books and my ELF II are what got me started.

I'm a little dense. How does Slashdot work? Are all the questions asked in advance and then the replies are posted, or does this Q and A happen in real time?

You can post questions to that Slashdot thread. At some point in the future Forest will get a new thread in which he can post all the answers to the questions he chooses to answer.

(Or do the answers come back in the same thread? I forget. Makes no odds though).

Forrest Mims IS the man. I loved his Engineers Notebooks way back when you buy all the parts to build a radio at the Shack.

The questions will be curated by either Forrest or the /. team. He writes up his response, it gets posted in one or more parts depening on length and what he wants to do, and with each posting there is discussion in which he may partipate if he wants to do that.

All the garbage over religion will just get left where it is, unless Forrest feels like he wants to respond.
