The space agency's new Valkyrie a 6 foot 2 inch tall (1.9 meters) robot with a glowing NASA logo on its chest bears an uncanny resemblance to Marvel's superhero Iron Man, but this space age automaton was built for work, not comic book heroics. A team of engineers at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Tex., designed and built Valkyrie in just nine months, according to press reports.

Actually Asimo is probably further down the road than Valkyrie in many ways. I wonder if NASA ever considered a joint venture with Honda. Hey, they already let a Toyota Tundra truck pull the Space Shuttle a few hundred feet when it moved into its new museum home in LA... http://www.toyota.com/tundraendeavour/
Got a link to those press releases?
Thanks
Here is their "News Releases" link but I couldn't find anything for Valkyrie... http://www.nasa.gov/news/index.html
Hello!
As it happens he has company. There's one working on the space station. Although rumor has it that he's also been programmed to play a terrific game of gin as well for the US astronauts.......
Also the space agency has been producing such excellent robots since the exploration of the Moon, Surveyor for example, and the Ranger satellites. And of course the ones on Mars. Curiosity has stopped complaining about whether or not she actually is on Mars or really working in a location of the Mojave Desert. (That because the locations they use for testing ideas resembles Mars.)
But ideally we are discussing individuals like Valkyrie there. As opposed to the landers and others.
Hello!
Well the satellites we've built and the spacecraft we've built and sent people to the moon and space itself, it happens all of that did us a favor. Our computers are the end result from that. It happens that right now there is a constellation of cheap birds at work, and one of them uses a smartphone as its guts.......
And an EXCELLENT investment with immediate payback.

@NASA: Can you please make the necessary changes to Valkyrie?
