This may have already been suggested and/or debated, but I must have missed it.

An improvement to to Propeller Project Board USB (product ID 32810) would be a via or solderable tap near the 5v line from the USB connector that would allow one to tap into the 5v supplied by the USB connection.

Reason: I (and I suppose others) often have one or two components that need a 5v supply, usually of pretty low power requirement. I really like the ease of use and availability of 5v USB chargers/wallwarts, which can, without modification, be used to power the PPB USB. However, if the USB connection on this board is used, there is no access to the 5v supplied, only the 3.3v generated through the built-in power supply. Yes, one can chop off the USB plug on the charger/wallwart and rig some sort of connection to the external supply terminals on the board, but this seems to be a bunch of extra work for a neat, clean and simple connection that already exists with the board and standard charger cord.

I have on a few projects soldered a 30 ga. wirewrap wire to the 5v leg of the USB connector to tap into the 5v power supply, it works but kind of a kludge. Is there a better solution?

Thanks,
Nate
