FWIW...I stopped in to three RS stores over the weekend and found Parallax PIR and PING sensors on clearance...again
This is after they were cleared from the shelves after the Great Fall Clearance ended.
Any one know what is going on?

Hello!
Nothing worth mentioning in public. I can tell you that I visited a store yesterday looking for a specie of battery holder, and it turns out that the site has no idea of how to sell things, and the company has lost its way.
No, even I don't know what's going on with my favorite customer.
They're still placing purchase orders with Parallax, however.

1) Dangit, I always hoped I was your favorite customer.
2) Please sell them some more Xbee pairs so I can pick some up for pennies on the dollar.
LOL...make sure you get your cash up front.
I wondering if they had to tried to return inventory and Parallax had told them "No, No, No".
Now I suspect their liquidation buyer had a clause that allowed them to pick and choose the bones they could pick.
If so more clearanced Parallax items may surface at the local RS.
Yes the parts selection has gone to heck.
The PINGs were $19.97 and the PIRs were $6.97.
Meanwhile the RS version of the PIR was $12. ;<)
Stopped in my local store Friday March 21st and bought 2 Parallax PING))) sensors for $9.97 each ( plus tax )
I was sure these were gone months ago.
I asked if they had more and was shown some "not-pings".
Glad I finally got in on this deal.
Last week I bought out all the PIRs that my local radio shacks had for ~$5 each. They didn't have any Parallax pings though. They did have some knock off brand though! I took a pass on them!
In Taiwan, nothing really flies off the shelves of any store until they offer at least 20% off. The culture is that it is shameful to pay 100%.
Besides, the people that buy these units are likely to see something to go with them at 100% and decide that one-stop shopping is easier than waiting for the other items to go on-sale.
After all, if the Parallax units are better quality and people trust that Parallax unit will give them better long-term information support; there are good reasons for Radio Shack to sell both... they make more money by having a wider range of customers.
You can't just sell the cheapest goods and keep your business viable.
Got on when I bought a pack of 1k resistors
They have 1still on the rack.
And from Micro center I got a 4x20 lcd and a gps sensor for 60 buck
So I supported my local stores and parallax for 90 dollars last weekend.
