I have been looking for some time to determine what speed something like Ping))) will work at or below. I have finally found an answer based on sensor data I was given for ultrasonic sensors. The trouble shooting section describes air current/speed as a problem and says that for air current/speed "Wind speed greater than 50 k/hr can affect operation." 50 KPH works out to 31.0686 MPH.
So for all of you who are like me and want to mount sonar on a remote control vehicle, figure 30 mph wind speed is your limit. In other words, take the speed of vehicle plus wind speed to get top speed of vehicle.
