They showed the first ever four episodes the other night, recorded them but havn't had a chance to watch them yet, there have been all sorts of related science programmes to do with Dr Who this week, have been some good things to watch.
Personally, I have around 250 episodes on DVD now, and yeah, the first 3 stories are in there.
(I also have a season of Torchwood, but that doesn't really count)
Tonight, I will watch 'The Two Doctors' story.
(Most episodes are parts of slightly longer stories of 2 - 4 episodes, with the rare 6 or 7 episoder. There's also Season 16 which is in reality a single long storyline 'The Key To Time', season 18 which is known as E-Space, season 23 whih is a 14-episode story 'The Trial of a Time Lord' )
Just need to brew up a pot of tea and find some cookies before I fire up VLC.
(All my movies are ripped to disk and converted to .mp4 files. Saves a lot of space in my livingroom)
Anyone ever wonder how they made those swirly special effects in opening sequence of those first series. Back in the day when the were no computers to do such things.
It's one of those great and obvious tricks when you get it.
Then of course the theme tune is special. Quite a feat in the days before moog synths and so on.

Not sure we are going to get it over here. Or if the local channels will put it on the net. There is no TV in the house.
God, it was 50 years ago I was hiding behind the sofa watching the first episodes of Dr Who.
*Smacks you with a cod*
You NEED to see the first episode!

Parts of Blondie's "Call Me" reminds me of the music. I feel like running now for some reason
You can get the same effects, in colour!, by pointing your WEB cam at the screen displaying it's out put.
