Expiring passwords: humbug!

What's this nonsense about passwords expiring after 90 days [in my best Andy Rooney voice]? I can't begin to tell you how annoying it is -- especially when I get notified upon replying to a post and can't do anything until I change my password back to what it was before the previous notification (ping pong ping pong). Such attempts at "security" (security theater, really) are misguided at best. Please remove this very annoying requirement from the forum. It serves no useful purpose other than sending me to my thesaurus to find new words for "ridiculous," which I probably ought not use in other forum threads.

Thanks,
-Phil

Interestingly, this is exactly 270 days since your last mention of this issue. Have you had to update your password twice in that period?

As far as I recall I haven't needed to change mine. I wonder what makes your account different? Moderator? VIP?

    Yes. :(

Now it's even more riling that I seem to be the only one suffering this indignity.

Phil, I have not had to change my password out since I have been signed up . Hope a super moderator can get that sorted out. Sounds like a PITA.

...ditto on not having ever to change my password.

I'm unable to see anything within Mr. Pilgrim's account that would reflect the requirement of resetting the password at some interval.

Maybe there's a super-duper moderator level that could finger this out.

    Mr. Savage???

    Phil,

I have gone through my profile, and can not see a selection to change my password every 90 days.

The only thing I think is different, I have PM turned on, and you have yours turned off. Off course that would be stupid if that was the problem.

Just tryin' to help, hope Chris chimes in.

    Hello!
Same here. In fact mine has been the same since I had a problem with my older one, and one of the moderators supplied with one that, ah, matches my screen name.

Besides Phil, would it help if I said I arranged that?
