obtaing current position of eddie in simulated environment

I am working on to drive Eddie toward the goal in simulated Reference platform robot 2011 where avoiding obstacles. I need to calculate the current position of eddie while traveling along the path. Is there any way to obtain it instantly from sensor readings or by using some other ways. I don't want to use trigonometry to calculate current position.
