Heater. is a man of great wisdom and respected opinion.

I agree with him completely. My Twitter account and interest has withered away and died.

Well then, I will try to be more vigilant with posting this information here in the forums as well. :nerd:

No offense, Chris, I'm just running out of bandwidth (as you get older, it goes after the hair and the memory....and something else...I forgot)

Plus, Twitter just never caught on with me...or Facebook...or any other social media beyond good old fashioned discussion forums.

Last time I spoke to an actual teenager he explained to me that Twitter and Facebook were "for the old folks", he and his friends only used it to make the parents happy whilst they were out and about doing whatever the parents would disapprove of. They have other means of keeping in touch.

I'm with Heater on this one. You already have the means to communicate effectively right here.

I speek to actual teenagers quite frequently, they definitely make extensive use of Facebook. I am quite disgusted that even our school encourages the use of Facebook as a means for distributing information for school clubs and activities - even though the clubs have their own domains and forums (which do not get used anymore).

"Everybody already uses Facebook" is the reason given. ... I am going to stop now... beginning to rant.

I'm also not a Twitter user because I never bothered to try it. My daughter loves it, but mostly to read tweets from Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande. So my impression is it's more for celebrities to bulk message their fans.

I use Twitter very sparingly. Most people I know on it use it to get quick, simple updates for new posts of projects or videos. With a limited 140 character message space it's no better than a text message for message content.

As for Facebook I closed my personal account quite a while ago and will never go back. I do have a fan page for Savage///Circuits on Facebook, but again that is for the people who hang out on Facebook (and not Savage///Circuits) and want to see updates as to what's going on.

vBulletin has a Facebook Connect feature and I keep it disabled. But getting back on topic, the original message was (as the subject said) for Twitter Users. :innocent: I didn't expect anyone to join Twitter to follow my updates.

Twitter? Sounds like perpetual flatulence :)

I don't mind the idea of Facebook, but I despised having to actively screen their new features automatically being added to my preferences.

    Google+ is fine.
