Where Were You on Oct 23?

From the forum Statistics at the bottom of the home page:

Most users ever online was 17,236, 10-23-2013 at 11:29 AM.

That's a lot of people on the Forum recently . What's up? Is that good or bad? Are people trolling the forum because they're bored and NOT working on a project? When I'm busy working on a juicy project is when I'm the least active in the forum.

At 11:29 AM on 23 October, I was rewrapping 25 lbs of boneless pork roasts and packing them in the freezer. Missed the entire online frenzy.

I was here at work. Probably bored. Most likely on the Forum.

I have two or three computers, home and office, that are logged in here permanently. Why would one ever log out?
No idea what was happening on the 23rd Oct.

Pffft.....where was I 2 weeks ago? Ha, good luck with that!

Breakfast today? I'm thinking oatmeal but it could have been toast.....

Anything I do is plausibly deniable once a few hours pass if I rely on memory!

    ROM, RAM, or EEPROM?

    Erco,
    ROM, RAM, or EEPROM?

    FIFO. A very short FIFO.

There is a perfectly reasonable explanation.

It was my fault… what happened is that I had a thousand questions about the P2 and forgot to sign in. Every time I thought of a new question I opened a new window in Safari to ask Google my question… since as we all know, Google is the expert when it comes to multitasking and memory access. Eventually, I ended up with 17,235 windows open. Safari is amazing isn't it? ... which means that aside from Erco, I was actually the only one on-line that day.

I didn't realize what a fuss this would cause.

    Sorry.

Got to be a glitch. Last time for all time high IRRC , (1,200 or so), was when Humaniodo published his Big Brain project to somewhere like Instructables.

I have a young tech working with me. His memory is a FIFF - first in, first forgotten. Our receptionist thinks he is figjam.

Hmm...FIFF. I must have FILF memory. To compensate I keep a journal. Crazy easy to remember specific days that way!
