Bought one, arrived quickly, but item model was a bit different - P/N of delivered one is: OPTREX DMC50387NYL-LY-B. (datasheet not available)
It works fine, but has a little problem - the backlight needs much more than 5V to work. But I don't have idea how much it needs. I've connected backlight to variable power supply and started monitoring of voltages and currents. It light ups on 7 volts, but is very dim. On 8 volts it is reasonably bright but consumes 100mA. I want to use already available DC-DC modules that convert 5V to 9V, for this display, but will it witstand 9V ?
and by the way, BGmicro has 5V to 9V isolated step-up converters for just $0.25!

(They have a little disadvantage - voltage regulation does not kicks in, if load is below 20mA, so with no load, it delivers 17V at output)
