Hi,

I spent a frustrating time getting my COM ports on windows to show up with the Saleae USB logic analyzer plugged in.

Unplugged the Saleae and my COM ports came back.

Anyone seen this?

I have used a Saleae USB LA on my Mac and it didn't interfere with the USB2serial ports I use to talk to my Propeller boards.

I'd suggest sending them an email as well. The one time I've sent them feedback they responded in 3 minutes.

I've used their analyzer ever since they came out. I've had the analyzer along with up to 2 other FTDI chips connected to USB (to Propeller chips) at the same time and have never had an issue. I use Windows XP. But like was mentioned above- send them an email or call them. Joe is very responsive.

Hmm, this appears related to my recent VirtualBox USB problems.

Are you running it in native Windows or in a VM?

Do you have VirtualBox configured to use a USB device?

I'm running Linux and played around with the Saleae quite a bit for a review I did. Didn't try running it in VirtualBox Windows though. Never had any problems in Linux between various FTDI devices and the Logic. But that doesn't help since Windows handles serial ports considerably differently than Mac/Linux.

I had accidentally added a "USB filter" on my VM that would take over any new USB connection. Everything is fine now since that was removed.
