I have decided to build a humanoid.
Im getting rid of or disassembling all my rolling and small robots.
Here is the first part the ankle.
The motors a surplus science store. 10 dollars
The ankle joint is a rod end, pitch, roll and yaw all in one simple package. The finish rod end will be a aluminum one to reduce weight.

Pretty cool, nice ball joint and two DOF has interesting possibilities.

Makes me wonder about using a 3-servo Delta robot arm as a leg. Hmmm. Martin_H?

Worked on the humanoid ankle this weekend. Got the aluminum rod ends and the aluminum tube I'm using for the frame. Cut the other foot pad out. Made a bunch of brackets to mount the motors (still not finalized) it will probably all change after the first real test anyways. The long actuator tubes will get shortened anyways. Hopefully I can have both ankles done this week. Working on the knee design now to.

Please note the shameless Parallax plug sticker on the side of the leg. How about a HB 25 motor controller in 24 volts.
