RIP Appmod?

I noticed that the LCD Terminal Appmod, which was the last Appmod product available, was discontinued so does that mean the Appmod header will be disappearing?
If not then maybe the Appmod with the breadboard on it could be resurrected.

When you say "Appmod with the breadboard", what do you mean? Was it something to plug into the Appmod header or did it let you use devices with an Appmod male connector (like the SayIt) on a breadboard?

I think it's interesting the new EasyVR is basically a SayIt without the Appmod connector. I personally very much prefer the EasyVR's form factor over the SayIt's form factor.

BTW, The EasyVR is currently on sale.

I was referring to the 29114, Bread Board AppMod, which plugged directly on to the AppMod header of the BOE and Super Carrier Board.

I think it was the weekend before that the BS2PX was on sale for $50 but when I went back later it was gone. I found it by accident since I don't remember it being advertised.

You win some, you lose some.

I am so glad Parallax has the Daily Deal back though it's shown the Propeller Mini since Friday.

The LCD Terminal AppMod was discontinued in 2010. We have not been building AppMod headers into recent development boards.

I purchased mine mid-2010 so it must have been discontinued later in the year. I guess it's a collector's item now. :P

Our Education team is going to look into making the design files for AppMod designs we own open-source, so please stay tuned.

I quite like the App Mod socket and have made my own boards to plug into it. One allowed the Pololu IR beacon to plug into a Board of Education, another was my own serial LCD using the 117 chip, and a bluetooth module using an eBay module.

So it's still useful even if Parallax stops producing daughter boards.

Hello! [Yes I am responding to a thread that's already becoming a year old.]
Jen, I am suddenly an owner of three BOE boards who have those connectors on them. What finally happened to that decision? So what I'm looking to do is extrapolate using an AppMod style connector to mate with the more advanced ones that were worn by the BS2PE boards.

Anyway just an idea. As to what would be going on the prototype one, #28310, that's the stretch.
