BS2 to control wireless ac switch??

New to the STAMP world and wanted to know if I could control 4 wireless AC switches, the type used for lights, etc.

Would I need relays? Could I tap into each remote

and have the stamp automate, flash, etc?

You would need a 5V coil reed relay that draws 20mA or less for each of the remote controls. The Stamp would control the reed relay and the reed relay's contacts would substitute for (be wired in parallel with) the pushbutton on the remote control. You would need a diode (like 1N914) connected across the relay coil as shown in Nuts and Volts Column #6. I would not attempt to directly control the wireless switch. It's too dangerous. RadioShack carries both the reed relay and the diodes.

Makes sense.. all this to automate some Christmas lights I just wanted to utilize this great lil Homework board. Thanks for the speedy response.

If you add an external 555 circuit pulsing IR at 38 kHz, a BS2 can send signals to control them.

The BS2 also has built-in commands to control classic X-10 powerhouse control modules, which sends signals through your existing house wiring.
