MICROCHIP DIP-8 24LC16B/P versus 24LC16B. Anybody know what does that /P on the first one mean?

Yeah, that's it. I just checked the data sheet:

@PhiPi: You're right, of course. I was furiously searching the datasheet concurrently while I posted. After I ordered those parts off Ebay, I noticed that the seller said "specify which one you want when you buy" to avoid confusion. I was rushing to get back to the seller before he shipped, in case there was a functional difference between the two. I knew somebody smarter than me here would know, and you guys didn't disappoint. Thanks again, my panic attack is over.
I am not belittling the seller here. I admire the ability of people to conduct commerce in a second language. We were in Moscow and even with phrasebook in hand, I had trouble purchasing water in Russian (cotton balls is just an inflection away) and getting milk for our coffee at one restaurant became an amusing game of charades! Clearly the spoils of commerce go to those that can adapt!!!
Brings back memories of trying to understand the "chinglish" instructions that came with the boards while assembling and setting up I/O adresses and interrupts for custom PC's. Got to admire any one willing to write technical documents in another language.
"When a passenger of the foot heave in sight, tootle the horn, trumpet at him melodiously at first, but if he still obstacles your passage, tootle him with vigor, express by mouth the warning Hi, hi! Beware the wandering horse that he shall not take fright as you pass him by. Do not explode the exhaust box at him. Go soothingly by. Give big space to the festive dog that shall sport in the roadway. Go soothingly in the grease-mud as there lurks the skid-demon. Avoid the tanglement of the dog with your wheel spokes. Press the braking of the foot as you round the corner to save collapse and tie-up."

Some of the best engineering advice I ever got. I do miss that bike.
