I hesitate to call it a robot. It looks like more of a "prop" kinda thing to me.
Nevertheless, it's big and impressive and obviously a lot of work went into it.

And it's in German, so I couldn't read anything.

I believe the words you're looking for are 'awesome' and 'animatronics'....

    Animatronics being high-tech puppetry. ;-)

Beautiful! I'd call that fire-breathing beast a robot. Surely those leg movements and some motion sequences are microprocessor controlled. Even if there's one or more guys "driving" it, there's more autonomy going on than some other things that pass for a "robot". Bomb-disposal robots are simple R/C devices, most rover robots are just cameras on an R/C chassis.

That's got to be one of the coolest things in the world!

I didn't see it walk in the video. One of the links after the video takes you to a painfully boring performance where the dragon walks. It's a nice safe quadruped walk with only one leg in the air at a time, but it walks (very slowly).

My wife loves dragons. I could probably get away with building a dragon robot as a present for her. Hey, I got away with the Roomba as an anniversary present.

I'm thinking of maybe a 12" to 18" version of the German one.

    Did it drag-on a bit?
