Do you have the make/model number and any links to the reader?

Without going through the Chinese datasheet and the Arduino library, it's hard to tell whether this will work with a BS2. The minimum Baud is 9600 which might work, but is at the limit of what a BS2 can handle. The other Stamp models like the BS2sx or BS2px are faster and more reliable at 9600 Baud, so would be a better choice.

I see that this thread started to cover it, but they seem to have given up.

The fundamental issue hasn't changed. The minimum Baud for this device is 9600 which is at the limit of what the BS2 can handle. It can transmit at 9600 Baud, but is marginal at receiving at 9600 Baud. Other faster Stamp models could be used, but you'd be better off using a Propeller instead because of the speed and memory capacity.

THANKS, Propeller is good for me.

Are there any threads where that has been done?

It would probably be best to post in the Propeller forum to find out if anyone has done this with a Propeller chip. This way your message will be seen by the right people.
