propeller activity board

After attending the expo saturday im inspired to work on my propeller controlled robot again. The activity board looks like it would get my bot moving pretty easily. But does anybody know why it's on hold? The PropBOE would work, but it has more features and cost than i need.

That's interesting. They have 352 in stock. Maybe a design flaw, (hopefully not), or someone wants to buy the lot.

I saw that last night and the first thing that popped into my head was some sort of BIG announcement on the education side of the house and they want to make sure they have the boards to back it up. I didn't think "design flaw"! YIKES!!!

A lesser man would take that opportunities to laugh off any recent coding issues.....sadly, that would mean I've been working on flawed hardware from many sources since 1974!!

Sorry folks. We are actually out of stock and the website has been updated to reflect that. We apologize for any inconvenience and myths this may have caused. :innocent:

I guess my brainless robot can continue doing its single function, dust collection, until the boards are back in stock.

I just did a quick web search and it looks like Adafruit has them in stock.

Since you saw them at the Propeller Powered Expo, and if you want to buy one (or more), I'd check out Propeller Powered first!! It's GOOD to buy things from Jeff!!!

If you were just curious about the hold status....well, then as we heard from "official source" {wink, wink, nudge, nudge}...there's nothing to see here, so just move along.........

I agree it's good to get them from PropellerPowered. I checked Adafruit because the PP site shows 2 to 3 day availability which I assume means none in immediate inventory.
I wouldn't hurt to check though...

I made an order at Propeller Powered. It shouldn't take long to get here.

@propMaker: Your order went out yesterday, @mindrobots, Yours is expected to ship today.

The only issue we have ever had with Activity Boards is that if they are not packed well, we've had the Xbee sockets break in transport.
We package them in several layers of bubblewrap, then ship them in a bubblewrap package. It seems to have solved the issue.

Don't forget we've got some I/O shields (keyboard/mouse, Wii, IR) for those Activity Boards/BOE Boards as well. :)

    Jeff
