Today should be the day unless Ebay has no deals or he acutally has to work.

In case I miss it, I want to thank and congratualte him for his near 10,000 contributions to the forum.

Well done, sir!!

Thanks for noticing, guys! Maybe you've noticed that I'm actually posting less these days. With post #10K imminent, I'm pacing myself to avoid my usual bevy of fluff posts in an effort to "make the last few count more". :) Man, is it hard for me and my big mouth (OK, typing fingers) not to post sometimes. Especially since there have been so many juicy posts lately...

Substance-wise, the robot I'm building for Jameco's Coasterbot contest is coming out really cool and I'll share that (a video, mostly working) for my 10,000th post, which will likely be Aug 14 or 15. Contest submissions are due at the end of August, but I have agreed to do two robot demos on Aug 14, so the major functions should be operative. A morning demo at work and an afternoon demo at Cerritos College Open House. So I'm jamming on that bot, combining a few technologies that should interest the likes of PhiPi, Duane, Whit, Rich, Mike, Publison, MartinH, DJ, Rick, Andrew, doggiedoc, Robert, and certainly others. Maybe even Ken!

No flames this time. Nonetheless, I call it the Terminator. Nothing left standing, just a swath of destruction.

Thanks for your interest, and stay tuned! BTW, if I need to make a snappy retort to anyone's future reply in this thread, I'll just edit this post #5 to add my reply instead of running up my post count.

@Rich, Dave, Publison and Martin_H: Nanner nanner, you can't make me post (but I'm an editing fool). Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time.

Well done, erco. A lesser man would have gone to the test forum and uploaded six throw-away posts just to get it over with. Still, I think your 10,000th post should have something to do with a bargain on latching relays. :)

    9,995 and counting, go erco!

To comply with new forum rules can you answer this next question in separate posts

What five different things do you know that can be made using plywood?

Four or five days, only five posts?! You can't do it. Looking forward to the video though.

I have figured since he joined this forum he averages ~ 5.13 post's a day. He has been quiet recently. It's going to be sad not to hear any erco deals!

I think erco found out, that with the forum upgrade last week, all post over 10,000 revert back to 0.

I shall taunt him with a write up about my delta robot project (I've been keeping it under wraps), as well as my drawbot which I've dropped a few hints about. That should hopefully elicit a response and use up two posts.

Erco has almost as many posts as the number of fan belts he's had to replace on his Corvair.

    Ba-da-bum.

(If a Corvair jab doesn't have him come out, nothing will!)

Corvair jabs? Gordon, that's hitting below the fanbelt.

Oops, he drew me out and wasted a post. DOH!

    I'M BAAAACK!

Hey, I just figured out how to keep my post count at 9997 and milk this system for all the cheap drama it's worth...

BTW, the new Coasterbot I'm building is mostly working and looking good. It won't be finished on Wednesday, but I hope to have the main chunk going for my demos.

I had to modify a 9g servo for CR servo for that, and so this vid's is for DD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m19IzL7v5gA

I hope you're not deleting old posts? IMO one should only delete a post if it's very recent and there are compelling reasons to do so. I really bugs me to look through an old thread where someone has obviously deleted a post.

Most post deleters I've seen do so when they get angry and the post deleting is part of their tantrum.

Hopefully the post you deleted was some old test forum post with no replies.

BTW, cool video of the CR servo. It's good to know those can be modified that way. I think there are lots of little servos that don't have a complete gear connected to the horn.

I delete a lot of posts, but it's usually because of embarrassment or irrelevance, and not petulance. In fact, I'll probably delete this post. :)

OK, I finally got my "feel good" post in at http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php/149626-The-Terminator about my latest bot for Jameco's contest. Naturally I had to fly the Parallax colors, using a BS2 and PING sensor. OK, actually a BS2E from my huge stash. A cute little bot with some potential.

This is post 9,999. I guess I better choose my next one carefully to make it memorable. Are there fireworks built into the forum software when I hit 10K? Or magic smoke?

    Maybe Tuesday's the day...

Go ahead and make it a "fluff" post - just like all your other ones ;-)
Why try to come up with something unique and worthwhile? Stay in character!

This has got to be against some forum rule. Quick moderators, suspend him for a month before he can post #10,000.

Oh wait, then I'll have to pay full price for my robotics gear for a month. Nevermind.

I'll have to make do with this.

OK, by popular demand, here is post #10,000! Delaying it any further is just raising expectations. Per Matt, pure fluff to "get it over with" so I can get back to my usual ramblings. No daily deal, just a silly celebration of the number 10,000. My twins heartily approve the dancing multicolor ponies. Woo Hoo! :)

    There it is!

Thanks for taking up all our bandwidth and spending our hard earned dollars on ebay. :)

That video was <church lady> special.

Was that Satan with the pink hair. :)
