Compass Modual HMC5883L

I am having problems with a HMC5883L compass board. I have it hooked up to a Propeller Activity Board that I just got. I am using the program "Test Compass HMC5883L.c" which is in the sensor subfolder of Simple IDE C. I get the following output: x = -6017 y = -19420 z = 0 W (new line) Write failed (new line) Read failed. Thinking I might have gotten the signal wires crossed, I switched those and got: x = 0 y =0 z =0 with no read/ write fail. I have tried to use the Spin program and I get nothing. Does anybody have a suggestion of what I should try next? Never mind, I made a wiring mistake, I had counted wrong on my breadboard. The reading are very noisy, so I need to work on that problem.
