Nothing new, urine batteries come up regularly. Intriguing and disgusting at the same time.

Face it, there's no urine shortage anywhere in the world. It can power a battery, make diesels burn cleaner (wiki Diesel Exhaust Fluid), cure athlete's foot, and has numerous other claimed medical benefits I won't go into here. It shall be left as an exercise to the reader...

But eeewwwwwwwwwwww. Talk about a good marketing challenge for anyone who wants to buck the system.

Now I forget, what does "PP DB" stand for?

I suppose it's no different to using animal waste to produce methane for fuel, as you say there is a vast resource there waiting to be tapped (or is that flushed?) Now I know why they call it a PP3

Quite a few years back I was involved in a deciding on part numbers for a line of plastic containers. Since they were made from polypropylene and one of them was used for urine samples I suggested, PP100, PP200, etc. for the different volumes. It did not go over well for some reason.
