By inexpensive I mean price less than $<10
By StampEABLE I mean LCD that has own controller, where you can load your character map, graphics, etc. Via SPI/I2C or other, stamp-friendly way.
So far, the simplest way I've found is to use MAX7456+3.5' LCD AV Monitor from ebay. The combo surely costs lot more than $10, around $30, but so far this is the cheapest combo. Any ideas?

It even does not have the screen shadow ram, so you have to keep a copy of screen in your application ram, to avoid collizions and overprints.
