I was just about to hack up one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161070802895?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1431.l2649 when I found this DIY unit. Remote control won out over Fm radio. There's a good chance that my twins will gain control over this player and it may be doomed to a life of playing Disney princess songs.

PJ, that's not paying more to get less: That item can record FM to the SD. The $8 unit can't (though that one does have teeny little speakers.)
