    That's a neat idea. He mentions a fair bit of slop in the joints, but I imagine that some nylon washers would tighten things up without causing binding.

    His co-processor chip and board seems overpriced given how the microcontroller market has evolved in recent years. A Propeller or Arduino can ramp servos and run a main loop simultaneously, and both boards are under $30. It's true that he has his custom firmware, but there's enough example code running around that I'm not sure it's worth $40.

    I do like the design of the bumper on this 'bot:

    I've had items slip under my sensors and end up in the wheels, it looks like almost nothing would get by a bumper like that.
