About Basic Stamp Interface DB9 cable. Cable question.

Hi,

I need to keep my serial Basic Stamp connected to my PC with the DB9.

My problem is the maximum lenght of the serial cable.

I don't know if I will need 30' or 60' or more but I need to ensure good comunication
even in long distances.

Do you know the best characteristics I have to have on mind before buy
a really good cable ?

I have about a 30 foot serial cable connecting my UPS to my network and desktop computer. The PC manages the UPS via the serial cable. So it should work. It is a standard unshielded twisted pair cable with about 4 pairs in it.

My question is: Why?

I have the fast IR roaming program running on my Boe-Bot, and it would quickly tie a tethering cable in knots in its travels.
