XBee 5V/3.3V Adapter Board Question

Hi All,

Quick question, I think I may know the answer but want to confirm.

On this board, will all inputs be converted from 5V DC to 3.3V DC? I am mainly interested in the IO (17-20) pins. If I send 5 volts DC into the adapter at these pins, will it convert to 3.3 volts DC and send that value to the Xbee? Or does it only convert certain pins (DIN and RTS) from 5 volts DC to 3.3 volts DC?

Will having 5 volts DC on an adapter IO pin damage the Xbee?

Thanks!
Ryan

Ryan, welcome to the forums! The adapter converts all 5V inputs to 3.3V outputs which go to the XBee Module. Pins coming from the XBee module that are buffered are sent to the output on the adapter at 3.3V as well. Basically the buffer is a 3.3V device with 5V tolerant inputs.
