Two things I love: a hot Corvair and the rolling hills of Palos Verdes, not far from my house and where I cycle a LOT. Ironically, I have never driven my Corvair in PV. It's my first car and it's been unlicensed and off the road for nearly 20 years, but suddenly I'm getting the itch again. No, I don't have or want the V-8 conversion shown. But some good mods with (Parallax-based) electronics and instrumentation would be fun. First things first... clear a path to it in the garage. Sometime soon.

please - start working on her. You know them old cars have a soul. Them needs to get pampered once in a while. I am hoarding collecting (nursing?) a couple of older cars. Improve something every week is the goal!
Enjoy!

My dad had a Lancia Appia - 3rd series with a V4. Very cool, a nice 4 door sedan that drove like an MGB and was about the same size wheelbase, but with all leather upolstry and wool carpets.
The doors had no center post between them. The front opened in the regular way, the back in what is known as suicide doors.
Too bad there were so few made and parts were impossible ot get. A real gem.

Air cooled engines were an obsession in my teens and twenties. 63 VW stock. 66 full length dune buggy. 69 VW that I pushed to 120 HP, that was fun!
Then a 68 Porsche 912. 4 cylinder you say. Well..it was much cheaper to work on and the Webers were easier to sync than on the 911.
Traded the Porsche in on a station wagon when I got married. Talk about reality check!
