Long story short...I've managed to break the usb connector off my PPDB.

Yes, there were tears

So what's the current procedure for getting it repaired? (search of the forum only gave one useful hit from three years ago).

Has the landscape changed? Does someone on the forums do it 'well' and i should send it to them? Back to Parallax? Back to the local distributor?

I realise there is a $ figure involved as it's not a warranty job.

Your URGENT recommendations sought (I'm supposed to demo the working version of my http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php/147360-Resolution-of-Ping%29-sensor-Music-as-therapy board in a little over a month to the director of the place my colleagues wife works - I should update that thread - some interesting developments there....).

Call Parallax Tech Support directly (or e-mail them directly). They might be able to arrange something through their local distributor.

I've broken my USB connection as well (although in my case it was the chip). You can install your own Prop Plug header yourself and use that instead. The breadboard has all the connections that you need (GND, P31, P30, and RESn). For $20 it can't be beat.

How are the traces on the board?

Can you take a picture of the board were the connector had been?

I agree with SRLM, a Prop Plug would be an easy fix but if the traces are okay I'd think the board should be repairable.

My Board was in a box that feel over and it hit something right on the usb connector off all the places.
While I tried to replace it I overheated the board and traces started coming off, I will try to make my own PPDB Prop plug so stay tuned.
