This would be perpetual motion... (balls rolling downstairs forever) if it worked. Nice effect.

Seems we have arrived at the next generation of 'stair master' devices for burning unwanted fat.

Much of the video can be explained if they used identical twins. Or it could all be video editing.

very clever but one thing doesn't quite fit and could spoil the ilusion, if you look at the "bottom stairwell" the wall is lit quite brightly by the flourescent light on the ceiling the "upper stairwell" is darker suggesting that the flourescent fitting is not at the same level.

Clever? Seems to me like an April fools choke that has been stretched way to far.

I noticed the lighting thing also. It also seems like the flange at the bottom of the handrail looks a bit different in some scenes, but I may be imagining it. I noticed that when the young lady comes back down the stairs she acts as if she sees the gentleman again, but they never actually show him at that point. I've spent waaay to much time looking at this video. I've even tried comparing spots on the concrete floor, wrinkles in clothing and the positions of stray hairs on people's head. All I can say is that they did a great job creating this video.

    It always amased me.

Say people watch the Avatar movie and they surely know that this is CG and non-existing things. Why same can't be said about stairs video? :)

The real question is, can someone make a robot that can navigate those particular stairs?

What would an Escherian robot look like? :)
