Eddie Communication error: No Propeller chips were found on any serial ports.

Hi,
I am a new Eddie Robot user. I am trying to connect Eddie control board to my laptop to load all the hardware drivers but i get this pop out error message Communication error: No propeller chips were found on any of the serial ports. COM3 scanned.
Please can anybody suggest or tell that if is it a hardware issue or a software problem ? Secondly i have re installed, all of the package software according to the instruction on parallax eddie installation guide via msrds 4. I have checked all the cables and battery has been also charged enough.
I will be highly thankful to the suggested help.

I don't know whether you have resolved this already but since I stumbled upon the same problem, I am hoping this will help both you and others in the process of setting up the eddie reference platform for the first time.
In the manual Parallax Service for RDS 4 Installation Guide -> 28992-Parallax-Service-RDS4-Install-Guide-v1.2.pdf there is a section in page 2, that directs you to install the proper drivers for the propeller chip, from the website: http://www.parallax.com/propeller Well the problem is that the website was updates during the summer and the page you are looking for is http://classic.parallax.com/propeller ... (by the way manuals should have been updated or at least a website redirect should point to the same .. old page)

Anyway you should go to propeller downloads and install the propeller spin tool v1.3.2 +
